The West Wing provides a glimpse into presidential politics in the nation's capital as it tells the stories of the members of a fictional presidential administration. These interesting characters have humor and dedication that touches the heart while the politics that they discuss touch on everyday life.
The West Wing runs on dialogue: characters walk the corridors and talk fast, wittily and with visible passion about laws, crises and compromise. The pace is high and the tone idealistic and warm, with dry humor between the serious moments. Politics becomes work under time pressure, where people wear themselves out and lean on each other.
Good for you if you like sharp, fast dialogue and politics up close, and enjoy following characters across many seasons.
