This gritty crime drama set in the dark underbelly of Paris follows police officers and lawyers as they investigate and prosecute crimes. Throw any romantic notion of Paris out the window. Crime is dark. The legal system is darker. This is Spiral.
Spiral is a sober, hard-edged Paris crime drama that shows police, investigating magistrates and lawyers as one interlocking system. Cases run across several episodes, the pace is dense, and the characters are neither clean nor heroic, but tired, ambitious and entangled. The Paris here is grey, cramped and free of any postcard view.
Good for you if you like realistic police and legal dramas where investigation and court carry equal weight and nobody is spotless.
