Naples. Still an organized crime stronghold. For the inmates at the Juvenile Detention Centre, time and space are interrupted. Taken away from their families and friends, they now have the opportunity to understand who they have been, who they are, who they want to be.
Mare Fuori mixes prison drama with a teen-series pulse against the backdrop of Naples. The tone is emotional and direct, with a lot of music, romance and group dynamics among the young inmates. It is less about investigation than about whether anyone can break away from where they come from, and it keeps characters and viewers close together.
Good for you if you like dramas about young people caught between family, clan and a fresh start, and you enjoy getting attached to your characters.
