Donald needs a log for his fire. Unfortunately, the one he picks is occupied by a couple of chipmunks and their stash of acorns. When he cuts it down, Chip and Dale fall out, but their acorns stay behind, so they work at putting out Donald's fire and retrieving their stash. Donald, of course, takes this as calmly and cheerfully as you would expect.
A short slapstick squabble in the woods that gets by with almost no dialogue. Donald rages while the two chipmunks answer with quick gags and nimble pranks. The pace is high, the scenes are cleanly built, and the fun lies in the back and forth between a short-tempered grump and cheeky little rivals.
Good for you if you like classic Disney shorts in which Donald loses his patience against small opponents.
