Matt Hagen's meteoric rise from Gotham street kid to Hollywood leading man is tragically cut short when a local crime boss's actions leave him horribly disfigured. Abandoned by his team and with nothing left, Matt seeks out a cutting edge treatment that miraculously returns him to his former self… but also unexpectedly affects his grip on reality, spiraling him down a destructive path of all-consuming revenge.
Clayface follows a Gotham street kid turned Hollywood leading man who is disfigured in an attack, regains his old look through an experimental treatment, and starts losing his grip on reality. The tone looks dark, somewhere between body horror, thriller and revenge story; director James Watkins is known for Eden Lake and Speak No Evil, and the film is set in the DC Batman universe.
Good for you if you like horror and thrillers with a science fiction edge and want a comic book story from a darker, more physical angle.
